    Input box adding HTML?

    AGK_Brian
      I am in a new lab with Flash 8 on all the machines. Most recent updates. I made a simple button:

      on (press) {
      answer = test
      trace (answer)
      }

      And when i trace (answer) i get

      <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIGN="LEFT"><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="24" COLOR="#000000" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0">text</FONT></P></TEXTFORMAT>

      What is causing all that extra HTML to get added in and more importantly, how do i turn it off? I have turned off HTML on the input field. Any help would be greatly apperciated.

          I take it answer is the text instance?
          use answer.text
          or
          answer.html
          Text if you want to see the html

          Also, unless test is the name of a String variable, you might want to try
          answer = "test"
          or
          answer.text = "test"
          or
          answer.htmlText = "<b>test!>/b>

          Peace
          "
