Screen Refresh, Blank Black Screen, Quirky Behaviour

      OsX 10.12.5

      InDesign CC 2017.1 Release Build

      Deleted preferences, didn't help.

Started happening in the past few days.

      - When I click on a text box to drag it or when I click on its anchors to resize, my screen goes black for a moment.

      - At a point, briefly, switching between Move and Direct Move tools was a challenge

      - At another point, when I had Find & Replace window open I could only type words o search in reverse.

          Hi cbsexeced,

We are sorry about the inconvenience caused. I appreciate your efforts to delete preferences.

Please try below mentioned steps and share results.

          • Remove preferences manually. For that close all Adobe applications and delete Adobe InDesign and com.adobe.indesign from below mentioned location

                  Launch application from Creative cloud

Check how application works there, If it works fine

                  Go to Location ~/Library/Preferences

Right click preferences folder and click get info

Click the lock icon to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.

Change permissions to read and write.

Click the Action pop-up menu , then choose “Apply to enclosed items.”

If you do not see your account there click on plus symbol on bottom left corner and add account and follow same steps

          Follow same steps for

          ~/Library/Application support

          /Library/Application support

Note: If you are on office system ,these (/Library/Application support and/Library/Preferences) folders may or may not allow you to add user , that is completely fine.

Relaunch system back to your user account and check performance
