I purchased a vector set of "sparkles" - FILE #: 97487497 from Adobe Stock and need to isolate one of the sparkles with transparency to place in an InDesign flyer design. I cannot figure out how to place the image with transparency because the graphic comes with a checkerboard and grey background. When I remove those layers, there are black circles around the sparkles where it should be transparent. I see that there are many graphics with this checkerboard/grey background so I know there must be a way to do this - I've had similar issues in the past with a flame graphic. I just need to learn the process for this particular task. Please help - Thank you!
What's the file format of the vector graphic? If created in Illustrator (AI), it should be edited in Illustrator, not in InDesign.
Steve is correct. That is an Illustrator graphic and needs to be edited in Illustrator.
When placing in InDesign be sure to place the AI file and enable show options which will allow you to choose a transparent background. DO NOT USE EPS!
for a more effective response and support, can you confirm the versions if InDesign and OS you are using? File types?
A screenshot would be great.
