    Printomatic problem

    Mike Crisp
      Hi

I have 9 separate internal casts (to keep things tidy) in a diary type project I am working on.

I have separate scripts in each of these casts to print my fields. However it keeps reading from the original Internal cast and obviously comes up with errors.

Is there a way to make sure each separate script reads from a specific cast ?

I'm not entirely sure I understand your problem, but it sounds like you have
members named the same. If you have two members, even in different casts,
with the same name - Director will use the first one it finds.

... unless you refer to members with syntax along the lines of:
tMember = member("duplicated member name", "unique cast name/index")

Hi I figured it out, quite simple really.

The difference is all about " " marks !

append doc, member "L1 Coach" - works

append doc, member L1 Coach - tries to find a field member in the original internal cast

append doc, member 2 - finds field member 2 in the internal cast - fine if you have a single cast

Thanks for your help anyway !

Right. I just find it better to use unique names, regardless of the cast.
