Lightroom Doesn't Launch After Install

I'd really like to try this product out and, very likely, ultimately give Adobe some of my money; however, the experience thus far has been lack luster and even in trying to get to this point--posting in the forum to try and get help--has been frustrating. In other words, I am far, far from impressed.

Yes, my machine is older and the OS is out of date, but according to the System Requirements that I looked at before installing Lightroom, I should have been OK.

I have the following for hardware:

  Model Name:    MacBook Pro

  Model Identifier:    MacBookPro9,2

  Processor Name:    Intel Core i5

  Processor Speed:    2.5 GHz

  Number of Processors:    1

  Total Number of Cores:    2

  L2 Cache (per Core):    256 KB

  L3 Cache:    3 MB

  Memory:    4 GB

I am running OS X 10.8.5.

Again, according to my interpretation of the System Requirements, I should be good to go.

No, I can not update my OS as that will make other Apps I use useless.

No, I am not willing to update those Apps at this time.

Any possible solutions?

Is it possible to get an older version of Lightroom that would run on my machine?

You are good for 6.1 only - whereas the current version is 6.10.1

After installing the 6.0 base installer, did you update to any later version?
