Adobe Pro Won't Scan

I have my Adobe Pro setup to scan to a Brother DCP-L2540.  One minute everything is working, then after a restart of my computer the printer works, but the scan does not.  I "create .pdf" through scan and all it does is sit there, no errors, the scan button is greyed out so it thinks it's scanning, but it does not take it any further than that.  The only way to get out of it is to Alt/Ctrl/Del then I receive an error message "This operation is not allowed, since scanning is in progress."  I can let it sit for 5 minutes and it still won't scan.
