After installing the update 6.12 Lightroom (on Windows 10, latest updates installed, Intel Skylake CPU) does not switch into Library mode any more. I get an error Message:

Could not call C function: private_load_AgCoreTech

I looked up the existing support note here (How to fix Lightroom launch error 'Could not call C function: private_load_AgCoreTech'. ), but this did not work for me. After installing the two files into the Lightroom root directory, I still have the same error message. Now even worse, since it does not vanish after clicking OK.

Thanks for the help

Pierre

I have found the solution myself:

You need to have Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package installed. For whatever reason, this was not installed on my machine.
