Does anyone know whether or not the Acrobat digital signature that is password protected qualifies as a legal signature for faxed prescriptions? As a physician, we have used our Adobe Acrobat digital signatures very efficiently for prescription refills. Now we are told by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy that "electronic signatures" are no longer acceptable but that refills must be done manually. I am trying to educate them that the Adobe password protected digital signature is not just any "electronic signature". Has anyone had any experience with this distinction? Thank you.
