Caption text is distorted in Program and on export

Hello,

I created open captions in Premiere and the text looks distorted, both in Program and on export. The text used is default Arial. I'm using the latest version of Premiere, on Windows 7.

I've attached images of the text, and my settings. I'm really stumped about what's going on here, but hopefully it's some setting somewhere that I've overlooked.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
