I'm a photog, working on a Macbook Pro and storing my raw image files on an external hard drive. I wanted to change my storage to a cloud-based one and so decided to use my 'Google Drive'.
But how do I access the web-based Google Drive from Lightroom in order to pull my photos into LR? If I sync my Mac with the Google Drive it simply pulls the photos from the cloud onto the Mac's hard Drive and Light room accesses them from there. What I want to know is can I access a cloud-based storage like Google Drive without syncing it to my computer?
I'm sure I'm missing something V obvious, but I can't figure it out...

In general, you can't do this through LR. Lightroom does not allow photos to be stored "in the cloud".
You may find workarounds described on the internet, be very careful if you do this and make sure you have backups of everything. And of course, having photos "in the cloud" will cause some parts of LR to operate more slowly than having the photos locally.
