mombaq Jul 2, 2008 9:09 AM (in response to redbeast)Well, I am not using Vista, I have XP. Earlier today I came upon two more sites I cannot do anything with because they need Flash Player. The Adobe customer service person told me about this site and that I could post and it was monitored by engineers who could give us an answer. Was that bogus information??? -
4. Re: Flash Player
tns2008 Jul 2, 2008 3:29 PM (in response to mombaq)I discovered, by searching other forums for help, that my using "Add/Remove" programs wasn't a sufficient way to remove the old version of Flash Player. At least not on my system. I was sent to the following URL, where I uninstalled Flash Player, then finally was able to sucessfully reinstall, and now it works:

5. Re: Flash Player
katemma Jul 2, 2008 7:33 PM (in response to mombaq)I am also having an issue installing flash.
I have done everything listed.
I have used the uninstaller, I have re-installed.
I have gotten the subin-acl download from Microsoft and followed the directions.
I have gone through my registry a million times I have no denied access, however I can't view the image of the registry that you show.
I do know that when my install stops is stops at register flash9focx. So if that is a help, please tell me how to fix this. I use several flash websites professionally. -

omeomy4 Jul 3, 2008 8:16 AM (in response to tns2008)I have been trying for 3 days to get the download for flashplayer to even open. It won't. I did uninstall my old version of flashplayer using the web page in the forum, but that didn't help. I have contacted Adobe about the problem with the site. If you have any suggestions, I would welcome them. At this point I have no Flash Player at all.
Thank you -

sadinaw Jul 5, 2008 11:07 AM (in response to tns2008)I've read all the threads about Flash Player and I'm in the same boat. I've uninstalled again today using the link suggested as the ANSWER.. Why doesn't an Adobe specialist answer all of your questions.. My experience is that is says I've successfully installed Adobe v.9,0,124.0 but when I go to my bank's site it's STILL SAYING Requires Adobe Flash Player.. I don't understand why Adobe's not helping us. -

20. Re: Flash Player
omeomy4 Jul 7, 2008 9:00 AM (in response to mombaq)I don't know what happened. I had gone to another site looking at a different program to open this same type of file. It was called IrfanView on web site www.irfanview.com. I downloaded it but it still didn't seem to be working. When I tried to view the earlier file that had been sent to me, all of a sudden the Adobe installer appeared and Adobe FlashPlayer was downloaded and I could view the file. I checked one other file I had been trying to view and I was also able to view it too. Earlier I had also downloaded an older version (flashplayer9r115_win) of Adobe at a site called download.oldapps. -

chickenwirre Jul 7, 2008 1:23 PM (in response to omeomy4)I am have the same problem. I've been trying to download for a while now, but it still wont work. The movie wont popup when i download, but a little box that says "installation complete" with some numbers does. I see a little red F popup where the movie is supposed to be, but then a yellow bar like the ActiveX bar pops up and it say that it wont let the site use ActiveX in an unsafe way, and the Red F goes away. I found something to fix the problem, but what the thing told me to do doesn't work. I'm using windows XP -

28. Re: Flash Player
katemma Jul 8, 2008 5:44 PM (in response to marielle5889)I have been able to get flash installed.
In the thread above download the unistaller and the installer.
Uninstall and then reboot.
Don't just double click the installer extract the .exe file and right click on it and choose run as. Choose to run as the administrator it may ask for a password enter it. It will install. Now reboot.
This worked for me and I have done everything include f&*k around with my registry.
