BTW, I have also renamed the agprefs file at C:\Users\[Me]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\, but did not help.
Phone and FB chat support redirects me here. Can anyone help?
LR crashes when opening CR2 files
Exactly what step or action is this, using Lightroom terminology?
(a) When I tried to add an folder with CR2 files to an existing Catalog, or just right-click a JPG or CR2 file and choose to open using Lightroom. The message "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working" gets displayed. This is the event viewer info:

Are you doing this ADD from your operating system, or from within Lightroom?
From within Lightroom.
How long have you been using Lightroom 4.4.1? Has anything else changed on your system recently?
I have been using it for ~4 years (on Vista and Win10). I have similar issue once about 6 months back. I "refreshed" Win10 and it went away. I tried the same now, and not helping. This started about a week back. I uninstalled all Windows updates installed in the last month, and launched LR, no go. Since then, my Win10 installation is up-to-date.
