You can use OpenOffice.org to export a PP presentation as a .swf, which you
can then import into Director, or if that isn't suitable for you there may
be something in the results at

For older versions there existed an xtra to import Powerpoint files (Version 4.0). MAybe you can dig it up and convert the ppt, but don't expect too much. I tried it myself a few weeks ago and ended up rebuilding at least half of the presentation myself.
Do you have a Mac, or at least a friend with one? And that Mac has Keynote (Apple's PowerPoint equivalent)?
If so, you could easily import the PPT presentation to Keynote. And then Keynote can export it to several different formats, including a QuickTime movie. If I recall correctly, Keynote can also easily resize the presentation to any size you want before exporting it.
My gut reaction tells me that this would be easier than trying to get around all the blasted "bugs" still crawling through Director 11.
