Gap between adjacent gradient mesh points in circular object and intersection issues

HI everyone!

I’m not good at Adobe Illustrator and knew about gradient mesh (how I can use them) only a few days ago. Now I would like to have closed metal ring, which was created using gradient mesh. I’ve done it using this technique https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/quick-tip-how-to-tame-the-gradient-mesh--vector-3697

But, unfortunately,

1.  When I’m trying to bring points closer to each other using maximum of zooming a gap between two adjecent points of ring appears https://d.pr/i/bfKstG (here blue rectangle is a background)

2. When I’m trying to join endpoints of ring nothing has happening.

3. When I’m trying to intersect points of gradient mesh part of this mesh disappearing. Like on this screenshot https://d.pr/i/Pqgdxi

So my question is how I can make this ring “closed” or maybe without a gap between points?

The original file is here

Thank you very much!

Can you try and View > Preview on CPU?

Most likely it's only a preview issue.

You're welcome.

In case you get issues when exporting to pixel files, you might actually need to split the mesh into two parts. Those could then slightly overlap without causing the issues you currently see when overlapping parts of a single mesh.
