I uninstalled Reader DC from my Mac (OS V10.12.6) using an uninstaller program (AppZapper).  I then downloaded Reader DC Version 2017.012.20093 from Adobe's website.  The installation failed.  I received and error that the installer found a higher version Adobe Acrobat Reader in the installation location.  So, what to do?

A second question.  I searched my HD for "adobe" and found all sorts of folders of reader, etc dating back to 2008 (first mac was 2008).  I've always used Migration Assistant rather than a clean install after buying a new Mac.  So some of this stuff is really ancient and not being used.  I'd like to clear out all of the obsolete Adobe stuff and start clean.  Any recommendations?
