Hello,

Could you guys help with this?

I need to create branched scenarios as per the requirement below. There are 3 types of roles in the system and based on what role someone selects, a specific set of information should display.

Slide 1 - Learner can choose one of the 3 roles shown via images / buttons (Role A, B, C)

If they select Role A, slides 2 - 9 should display.

If they select Role B, slides 10 - 14 should display plus slides 7-9.

If they select Role C, slides 15 - 20 should display plus slides 7-9 and 13-14.

Now, for Role B, is there a way to move to Slide 7 when they finish Slide 14. I do not want to duplicate slides 7-9 again and add them after Slide 14 for Role B. Same question with Role C too.

Please advise. Thanks in advance!

You can create custom navigation to handle this, don't use a default playbar nor navigation by TOC.

Some information is missing from your question:

  • Which version do you use (exact full number please)?
  • Will you use output to SWF or to HTML5?
  • Is it a normal or a responsive project?

Besides those general questions:

  • Where will the learner will be navigated after the last slide in the scenario (9 or 14)?
  • Do you want to allow backwards movement as well?
  • Can the learner go back to the dashboard slide to choose

Hi Lilybiri. Thanks for the response. Here are some answers to your questions.

  • Which version do you use (exact full number please)? Captivate 2017
  • Will you use output to SWF or to HTML5? Both swf and HTML5
  • Is it a normal or a responsive project? Normal

Besides those general questions:

  • Where will the learner will be navigated after the last slide in the scenario (9 or 14)? It will be 9
  • Do you want to allow backwards movement as well? Yes
  • Can the learner go back to the dashboard slide to choose another scenario after he finished one? Ideally the learners wont do that. But its not a problem if there is a provision.
  • Do you have any quiz slides in the scenarios? No
  • Are you using a LMS, and if yes, what do you want to report? No LMS and reporting. It will just be an upload on a website.

But scenario C says:

slides 15 - 20 should display plus slides 7-9 and 13-14.

What is the sequence for this scenario? If 7-9 are always the last slides, I would consider moving those slides in the Filmstrip towards the end, will make your setup easier.

Problem will be for the backwards movement.

Within a scenario for all but first and last slide you can use a simple Next/Back button, would consider using a shape button timed for the rest of the project, which you hide on the first and the last slide of each scenario.
