I have one saved custom crop of 1.637 x 2.216, when I try to create a new one of 3.000 x 2.216 it does not accept and goes back to 1.637 x 2.216.  What am I missing?

They have nearly identical ratios: 1,3537 and 1,3538 and are the same for LR, just portrait or landscape as difference which has not to be decided in the crop ratio since it can be used either way.

Because the 2 crops are the same ratio (Landscape vs Portrait), simply hit the X key while the crop handles are visible to toggle between Landscape and Portrait.
