Clicking on Faces or Photos on Name People does nothing.

Photo Elements 15.

Running face recognition on a photo catalog of over 30,000 photos. It seems that for people with a high number of 'faces' (over a couple hundred), after awhile when you click on either Faces or Photos for that person nothing happens. Double clicking on the persons picture seems to have random results, such as showing pictures for someone else, or show the message "No media available..."

How to fix this, or is this a known bug.

Is Face Recognition still running?

What happens when you turn FR off from Media analysis preferences  (Edit > Preferences > Media Anlaysis >Un-check Run Face Recognition Automatically) ?

If you are still unable to open any stack, can you please provide the following information:

1. Go to media view

2.Select sort order to oldest

Please tell us the date of the oldest photos in your grid.

Thanks,

Anwesha,

Thank you very much for responding.

I turned off FR, exited, reloaded. Confirmed that FR was off. But the

problem still occurs.

It is not that I cannot open any stacks, it seems to be an issue with the

larger stacks. I have now noticed that there is one large stack where the

persons photo does not show on the top of the stack, instead the

head/shoulders icon appears.

When sorting by date, the oldest date is 1/1/1601. (Obviously not a correct

date!)

Thanks,

Garry

Thanks much for providing the details.

Here is what you need to do:

1.      Set the sort order to OLDEST

2.       Set View > By Details on to check the date of the files

3.       Now select all the files with date set as 01/01/1601 (there are around 344 items in your catalog with this date)

4.       Right click those items and choose Adjust Date and Time of Selected Items

5.       In Adjust Date and Time dialog, choose Change to specified Date and Time

6.       Change the date to either 2nd January, 1601 or any date later than 1st Januray,1601

7.       Now once the date change is done, go to People View and try opening the stacks you were having problem with.

Please let us know if you are still issues in opening stacks after performing these steps.

Would be glad to assist you further.

Thanks,

Anwesha

That fixed the problem for all of the Face stacks except for the one that shows an icon instead of a face. That one does not show the Photos or Faces options, and does nothing when double clicked.

Is that a named or an Unnamed stack?

If it is an unnamed stack, you can select it and click on Do not Show Again present on the action panel.
