Can you post a link to your files here or PM it to me so I can look at it? Edge Animate, right?
Hi there! Thanks for your reply
A friend of mine figured out the issue - once we converted the text to symbol, the animation played correctly. So that is settled.
But now a new problem came up with another file. The animation plays fine during timeline playback in Edge, but once I publish it to HTML, the animation basically doesn't happen i.e. it just stops at the very 1st frame (static image).
This is driving me nuts!
I'm not able to send the file out because it's confidential, but I hope you can have an idea as to what could be affecting the animation after publishing (when everything shows up perfectly in the timeline animation)?
I do not share files and if you PM to me it will be safe. i have helped hundreds of people that way. I just delete the files after I am done helping. Just this is totally you privilege to not want to go that way.
If this is not possible 1st try this:
In Firefox use the console to see if you get an error To activate the console press ctrl-shift-K
Then if you do have an error and do not understand it, post it here.
Next if this does not help, PM me to action.js file. I will see if I can find something wrong there.
Hello! A friend of mine resolved it - turns out that a js script was missing! Now it works fine phew!
But I do have another question regarding motion paths in Edge. I have an existing motion path of a bouncing ball and I need to shift the entire path to the left by about 20px. Is there a way to shift the entire path as a whole? Right now I'm shifting all the different points one by one (very time-consuming) and I am thinking there must be a better way to do that?

You can indeed remove points on a motion path with ctrl. Press ctrl then hover over the anchor and click. It will delete it.
To move the whole path, press shift and select each anchor of the path, then let go of the shift key and select the path with the mouse to move it.
Pressing ctrl, shift, alt you can see what you can do by mouseover the path and the anchors.
The shifting of the motions path works! Thank you so much!
I'm still not able to delete an anchor point, though. I tried to ctrl + hover + click, but I am getting the knife/razor icon instead.
So, with the knife/razor icon, I ctrl+click on the anchor point and nothing happens. But when I ctrl+click+drag the anchor point, it tears the point away from the main motion path. You can see that from the short video here:
Very strange! Not sure why I'm not able to delete away an anchor point on my side
Hi again resdesign, another question just popped up
I'm trying to resize an existing Edge animation from 500x800 to 500x1600, so I thought I will just need to change the stage size and all will be cool, but after I did that I realized that the animation has snapped to the top (instead of remaining at the center).
This is the original size:
This is how it looks after I increased the stage size:
Is there a way to resize such that the animation will stay at the center, like this?
Because there are a lot of motion paths around the heart, and for this file, the motion paths are not even showing up so I won't be able to even manually shift them.
Sorry for all the questions! First time dealing with Edge and I'm on such a tight deadline
Really appreciate your help!
It is rather hard to change size after the fact. Maybe you could use responsive scaling and then put it is a smaller container div.
Oh dear, in that case I guess I'll have to manually shift the motion paths. Any idea why for certain files the motion paths can't be seen?
Also, repeating my previous question about deleting an anchor point: I tried to ctrl + hover + click, but I am getting the knife/razor icon instead.
So, (with the knife/razor icon) I ctrl+click on the anchor point and nothing happens. But when I ctrl+click+drag the anchor point, it tears the point away from the main motion path. You can see that from the short video here:

You need to first press the ctrl key, then hover over the anchor until you see the pen and the minus sign, then click the anchor to delete it.
I did exactly that, but I'm not getting a minus sign - all I see is a knife icon. I captured a short video of it, if you can have a look at it here?
Or is the little triangles on the motion path not able to be deleted?
Here is my recording (sorry I do not have screen recording sofware at this time so I use a evaluation version
YOu can also edit the edge.js file in order to not have to mess with the path in the GUI.
