use the _currentframe property of movieclips and the gotoAndStop() or gotoAndPlay() methods.
can u provide a sample so i could understand a little better.

here's my code. I'm trying to figure how to make the player piece move the after the dice roll
execute your goto method from rollDice().
the swf should move to the value of _currentframe + rollvalue of the dice.
the dice rolls, i get the value but the gotoAndStop doesn't do anything.

there's no logic displayed in that code. you should:
1. generate your randomNumber
2. apply your goto method
