Hello,
I am on a government network and have two printers (same make/model) hooked up. Some of my pdf files can print to both printers fine. However, others will not print to one of the printers but will always print to the other printer. My internal tech support has basically told me to try everything on the Adobe FAQs (print as image, fit to page, recreate the pdf, etc) but nothing has worked. We have even tried to safe the file to XPS and print that way but it still doesn't work.
My IT has basically given up and told me to print to the other machine two blocks away and walk over to pick it up. That is not acceptable to me.
Any ideas?
Hi Jeffh,
Sorry for taking so long in responding to your query.
As per above-mentioned description, some pdfs are not printing to a specific printer, is that correct?
Please try following troubleshooting steps:
1- Check if an updated driver is available for the printer which is not printing.
2- If that doesn't work, try disabling protected mode- ( if printing from Reader) -
Launch Reader>select Edit >Preferences>under Categories, click Security (Enhanced)>uncheck the box next to Enable Protected Mode

Disabling Protected Mode is for troubleshooting purpose only, and not recommended. Please turn the feature back on after troubleshooting is complete.
3- If that doesn't work, try the steps given in this link: Troubleshoot PDF printing in Acrobat and Reader
Let us know the application- Reader/ Acrobat and the version of application installed on the machine?
You may refer to this link on how to: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
Which operating system is installed on the machine- Mac/Windows?
Is there any error message when printer doesn't print?
Thanks,
Shivam
