batch resize large png to smaller with transparent background

I have been trying to resize large folder of up to 1000 large pngs {with transparency) to much smaller ones with the same transparency.

I have created numerous actions in the past but I am having no luck at this time.

I can either open, resize and save to same folder

or open resize and save to a different folder

The transparency seems to be the biggest problem, I loose it

Any suggestions.
