It's strange to me too, but Adobe Draw uses outline artwork (I think it's like the blob brush), whereas Adobe Sketch used path data.
Nevertheless, what you are getting is accurate (or the way it's currently working). You can clean up the paths manually, or use the SIMPLIFY tool in Illustrator to reduce the number of points in your transferred artwork.
Using SIMPLIFY, you may get different results (due to the bezier curve angles). However, it is often a good way to start cleaning up a rough draft from your mobile device.

Adobe Sketch does not seem to use path data; they are focused on pencils and brushes.
For the other part, the Simplify tool does not work properly with this problem, since it just deletes some points, but keeps the object as an object (and not as a path).

This is a frequently requested feature, but unfortunately at this time bezier paths are not available in Draw.
I hope this feature will be implemented in the near future.
