Long pressing / left click+hold of tools in tool panel no longer works

I opened up photoshop today and long clicking / clicking and holding no longer pops up the subtools in the tool panel. It is once I release the left click that it finally shows the menu. Seems like a bug very annoying. macOS 10.11.6 Adobe CS6.

Just guessing:

If it's a cordless mouse, try replacing the batteries.

Try updating or rolling back your video driver directly from the card manufacturer's site.

Right clicking works, and the menu does pop up AFTER I let go of my left mouse button. But my workflow for years has been to long click left mouse and have menu come up. I confirmed with a workers version of photoshop that the expected behavior is to have long left click pop up the menu, before letting it go, and even this tutorial mentions long pressing left mouse button for menu. Use Photoshop tools  I'd like to get that functionality back. Thanks!

That's why I save it for last.

Let us know if it works.

Reinstalling fixed the problem, but there is still like a 2 second delay until the secondary menu shows up. Thanks everyone!
