Issues with Blank pages in large PDF's Acrobat XI Pro

We have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed on a terminal server. Occasionally our users have issues with large PDF's showing blank pages in both the document itself, and the thumbnail preview on the left. Have not been able to find a way to correct this.

Make sure that "Display large images" is ticked under Edit - Preferences - Page Display.
