Adobe Acrobat DC - Error when clicking on 3rd party plugin

We have a 3rd party plug-in for Acrobat DC that throws the below error the first time you click on it.  The next time you click on it, it will work the rest of the day.  We have tried loading it to reader and it doesn't throw an error.

Also we noticed if you go to preferences, you get the below error when you close Adobe.

Faulting application name: Acrobat.exe, version: 17.12.20098.44270, time stamp: 0x599eb8a8

Faulting module name: MSVCR120.dll, version: 12.0.21005.1, time stamp: 0x524f7ce6

      Exception code: 0xc0000409

      Fault offset: 0x000a7666

      Faulting process id: 0x1ddc

      Faulting application start time: 0x01d338819d2bf269

      Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe

      Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\MSVCR120.dll

      Report Id: 42c27ca8-d632-476b-b802-09dc69d2ec5a

Anyone run into anything similar?  Thinking it might be a setting or a conflicting file.  The vendor doesnt get these errors when they test.

      Thank you.
