I registered my iPhone, created a certificate and downloaded a provision profile from the Apple developer web site. When I downloaded the profile, I got it as a .mobileprovision file. If I'm going to upload it to build.phonegap.com, it needs to be in .p12 format. I converted the certificate to .p12 format, but I can't figure out how to do this with the .mobileprovision file. When I try to use Xcode, I'm asked for the password I used to protect the certificate. I type that password in and Xcode complains that an unknown error has occured. How can I turn the .mobileprovision file into a .p12 file?
Well, It turns out that I didn't need to turn the .mobileprovision file into a .p12 file after all. I'm blind and I use a screen reader. My Windows Screen Reader was reading the build.phonegap.com site wrong. As a result, I was trying to upload the .mobileprovision file to the place where you upload the .p12 file to. I tried it again with the VoiceOver screen reader on Mac OS. I was able to upload the .p12 file and the .mobileprovision file. Now I can hopefully get on with the business of learning how to develop IOS apps.
