My understanding is that you would need either Flash Media Server or Red5 to do that.
yes, you are right, but i want (only to study) create a simple server that can handle user comunications.
i don't want to know how i can do this, but only, if i have to open ONE socket for webcam stream and ONE socket for microphone stream.
so....for every user have i to open two socket?
indeend 3 socket:
1 socket for --> textual messages
1 socket for --> webcam stream
1 socket for --> audio stream
Thanks a lot
Audio and webcam is one stream,
for chat you can use a second stream or use polling.
I have a simple zip file that uses red5 that shows you some methods.
thanks so much for your response.
so, have i to use only two socket? i don't understand why only two stream, webcam and microphone are separate...
you can use one stream for Audio en Video means two sockets per client.
By why are you worried about that?
i'm not worried about that :-) ....
if there are two sockets (one for WebCam and one for Microphone) in total there are 3 sockets, for the chat:
- textual messages
check the NetStream class
it has two methods
so for me that means one socket for both streams, well... that said, use tcpdump to be sure :)
