I am developing a tabbed-dialog box with multiple tabs. The
piece is a single movie clip in a larger application, with
different frames containing the graphic backgrounds for each tab.
Textfields are placed on the backgrounds dynamically when the swf
starts; the user clicks on a tab and sees the tab contents.
When testing it, and I clicked in a text area and switched
tabs, for some reason, no buttons react to being pressed anywhere,
in or out of the dialog, and the app has to be closed down. Setting
the textfields to "selectable=false" fixed this with blank
textfields. However, when I created text links and placed them on a
dialog panel, and click a link, then switch tabs, same problem.
Solved - I simply set the focus to the other tab buttons when
they are pressed.
I think the problem is related to the link in the textfield
taking focus once clicked, and then being covered up by other
layers in the dialog mc, therefore somehow preventing anything else
in the app from taking focus, including the tab button to show the
