I'm experiencing an issue opening PDFs in Acrobat X Pro which are created in Acrobat DC 2017. I have tried resetting the preferences and doing a clean uninstall/reinstall. Neither fixed the issue.

Are there any known causes for crashes of this nature, or any backwards compatibility issues that may be occurring?

What's your OS? What exactly happens when you open the files? Is there an error message of some kind?

Also, what exact version number of Acrobat X is it?

OS is macOS 10.12.6, Acrobat X version is 10.1.16.

There isn't an error message besides a general crash warning from the OS. When opening the file Acrobat will hang up for a bit (spinning wheel) with the file opened and then crash.
