Hi Adobe Community,

A new problem has come up for me in the last week or so which is, often when I drag an audio clip to shorten or extend it Premiere just crashes. I get "A serious problem has occurred" error message and the program quits.

Here is a video of what happens:

I was running Premiere CC 2017 and recently updated 2018 to see if that would fix the problem but the problem still occurs.

My computer specs are:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

Mac OS High Sierra 10.13

Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere, updating Premiere, deleting my preferences, clearing the cache, resetting my Adobe folders' read & write permissions.

This is incredibly frustrating so any help would be amazing.

Thank you!

Best,

Jesse

So I figured out the problem. Make sure "Composite Preview During Trim" under timeline settings is left unchecked. Once I unchecked it the issue went away. Hope this helps!

By the way this has happened on multiple projects with multiple files from different sources of audio.

Same issue here -- tried emptying cache -- also tried importing to new sequence.

Also running virtually the same system. Is there a need to have more memory in Premiere 18?
