Sorry if you just got confused by a reply I made into the wrong window!
I have done enterprise apps, and they installed ok. I use BetaBuilder as a way to get users to install the app:
is BetaBuilder this for "ad-hoc" only ? What are the steps for building an enterprise distribution with BetaBuilder?

It can work for any build type, I only mentioned Ad Hoc because that's what I think worked for me.
With BetaBuilder you would create a set of files that you would post to a server. It has to be HTTPS, HTTP won't work in iOS anymore. You send a link to users and they open it on their device, and do an over the air install of the app.
It's basically like TestFlight, but you don't have to do special beta entitlements in the app-descriptor file.
thanks - I will try it out .
I'm still suspicious of the distribution certs and provisioning profile. Apple used to have a "in-house or Ad Hoc" . Now they only have "App store or InHoc"
I'll let you know how it works out.
I vaguely remember the in-house one. I think that was what was needed for enterprise. Not sure what is needed now.
Surely the point of an Enterprise account is that you do NOT distribute your app to the Apple App Store? You distribute it in-house. That's how we use our account anyway although we haven't used Animate for about a year now to output, preferring Intellij IDEA.
thats what I would think too. But Apple took the "in-house" option away on the developer page when you are getting all the certs and provisioning profiles. Have you seen any problems with your in-house distribution builds lately ?
I'm assuming you mean the Deployment tab! I use the ad-hoc option as the iOS deployment type. Unfortunately the help icon on that tab in Animate 2018 links to a page with no explanation of the iOPS deployment type so not much help there.
I'm also now getting this error with iOS 11:
"The device has encountered an unexpected error. Installation Error: ApplicationVerificationFailed."
However I have found this thread regarding a known bug which is being worked on. Not sure if it is related.
I was able to figure out the in-house deployment. Seems I was signing on with the wrong apple ID.
So now that I got that fixed - I'm using the BetaBuilder . I upload all the files to my https website and put it in a directory - I get to the index page ok. but when I click the link from a safari browser to try and install the .ipa it gives me an error. "cannot connect to www.dfusioninc.com"
which is the root of my directory.
