Hello, I need help signing a form for an end-user. The form shows the following in Security Properties:

Document Security

This document's security method restricts what can be done to the document.

Security Method: No Security

Can be Opened by: All versions of Acrobat

Document Restrictions Summary:

Printing Allowed

Document Assembly: Not Allowed

Content Copying: Allowed

Content Copying for Accessibility: Allowed

Page Extraction: Not Allowed

I've tried openning it in Acrobat Reader DC, Acrobat X, Adobe Reader XI. Sign is greyed out everywhere.

Note:

There isn't a field labelled "Signature" but there is a "Name" field.

He used to be able to sign these documents from the same client

Hello Romosage,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, the Sign option is grayed out when you try to sign a PDF, Is that correct?

Make sure you are logged in Adobe Acrobat  Reader DC with your Adobe ID and password. If the issue persists, please uninstall the Acrobat Reader using Acrobat cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  || Link: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html (Assuming you are using Windows machine)

Restart the computer, and reinstall Reader from the URL Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution  Link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Try signing any other PDF and check.

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Hi,

i have the same problem on Mac 10.11.6, the sign option on full & sign is constantly grayed out.

i have uninstalled using the cleaner and reinstalled from the above URL. I have created an account & signed in.

security options say I am allowed to sign as above but it is still grayed out. This is a government form I need to fill out in the next 18 days.
