    Panorama

    Level 7
A client had a friend create a few (3) panoramas for her website. I am
about to download the zip file but it is 146 MB! I requested .swf format.
I need to know what would be considered a optimal size panorama ... if it is
800 pixels wide, perhaps 200-250 pixels high?
      Thanks!

I failed to mention that PurePlayer is somehow involved. Would this be a
plugin the viewer would need to download in addition to having Flash
          installed?

800 by 200, panorama with some controls and programming.... 300KB max 500KB
if not well optimized. That's the max.
Perhaps the zip has source files, images and flash fla...this could be large.

Pure Player it's a java viewer for panoramic images. It has nothing to do with
              flash. Totally independent applications.

Does Pure Player need to be installed to view this panorama, or will the
plugin most of us have (Java Sun) do the job? PurePlayer wouldn't
                  automaticall install would it?

It definitely wont automatically install itself. You might have to approve it.

I've worked with panoramas for a while. The optimal size for a panorama of that dimension is about 600KB.

I have all of the files now, it's a tremendous load ... there is one .tif
image that is over 50MB! I turned it into an unoptomized .jpg and that
alone reduced it to just over 1 MB. I don't know what I'm doing ... but it
is obvious that the person I'm working with is as dangerous as I am ;)
                          Thanks for your input ...
