I have Elements 13 & Premiere 10

I have taken Elements 2018 on trial.

Organizer no longer seems to display the camera allocated names ( numbers ; ie. DSC3456) with the thumbnails in the Media page .

Is there a setting in preferences that I can change to display the numbers.

First thing to check: are you on the default 'adaptative grid' view or in the old 'detailed' view? Use the shortcut Crtl D to switch. Be sure to set the thumbnail zoom tool big enough and the View menu to display file names and dates.
