AI will not copy/paste text into Animate 2018

Each time I try to copy text over from AI to Animate CC 2018, Animate CC 2018 crashes. Text within each AI file is standard Arial text.

Previous versions of the software had no problems doing this. Can anyone help?

I can get copying text in the latest version of Illustrator to paste into the latest version of Animate, but initially I had trouble with text itself in Illustrator. I discovered there's an issue with the update and the preferences in Illustrator that is causing a number of problems. I don't know if this will fix it, but you might try resetting your preferences in Illustrator. CC 2018 Illustrator—Don't Import previous settings and preferences

Thank you Myra, resetting the preference with Shift, Ctrl, Alt fixed the problem
