How do I get this canvas effect on a picture I took? I have tried overlays, canvas wallpapers, etc. but it always changes the colour of the picture even if I desaturate. How do I get those effects but not change NO colour of the actual picture? Help highly appreciated

But I think, that there is no such thing like a free lunch. How do you know that on the picture you show, there is no colour change?

The picture was taken in a game with a windlight (special color). After that, teh canvas effect was added and when comparing both pictures side by side, there is NO difference in colour

Go to Filter > Filter Gallery > Texture > Texturizer >

Select Canvas or Burlap from the drop-list.

Adjust settings as desired.

NOTE:  If you add too much Relief to a dark image, it will add light lines which might shift colors in an undesired way.

Thx but I already tried that as well. Using the texturizer in PS itself gives me an even texture over all the picture but as in the one I posted, you clearly see different strokes and patterns

Use multiple layers and apply multiple textures from different directions.

Adjust opacity on upper levels at less than 70%.
