Properties Bar - need to make it permanent

Can we PLEASE have a way to keep the Properties Bar ALWAYS open?? I tire of having to find it buried where it is now, every time I want to edit the properties of an object I add.  I recall earlier (and BETTER) versions of Acrobat Pro that handled this well!

For what it's worth, you can open it quickly with Ctrl+E in Windows.
