Hello,
I have created an Acrobat DC "action" to password protect multiple PDFs within a nested folder structure - with the same password.
This works fine - until the action finds non-PDF files somewhere in the folder structure - e.g. docx files.
If I script a routine to, say, temporarily rename *.docx files to *.xxx - then no problems are encountered.
I feel that I'm missing something here.
Many thanks
Martin
You're not. It used to be possible to tell the Action Wizard to ignore non-PDF files, but that's no longer the case. It will try to convert any known file-format to PDF when it encounters it, and it can't be avoided, unfortunately.

Many thanks for the prompt response.
I'll mark this as correct - though I really wish it wasn't
