does anybody know if it´s possible to synchronize my pictures between Lightroom Classic and mobil (or the new Lightroom CC) without downloading all the pictures on my hard drive? So that the original files are saved in the cloud and I work only with the smart preview (like I do on my mobil devices).
For background information: I´m low on disk space and want to save my files in the cloud, but I still would like to use Lightroom Classic CC for functions I don't have in the new Lightroom CC or Lightroom mobil. By default Lightroom is downloading all the originals and eating up my disk space.
So I would really appreciate if somebody could help me out
With Classic, no. It's a hoarder. It's a local-storage-centric app, so it'll always grab whatever it can, and keep it.
With the CC desktop app, yes. It's a cloud client, so it's happy to let the cloud be the central repository and just keep a local cache.
It's a tricky limbo we're in right now, but it sounds like the future will suit you well. In the meantime, you could add an external hard drive and tell Classic to download mobile photos to the external hard drive rather than your internal drive.
Thank you very much for your quiek response and your help.
This situation is very unfortunate. There is a cloud based program with limited functions and a full operating software with a miserable accessibility to the cloud.
Nevertheless I really appreciate your help.
