You have jpg selected as the file type and it's still saving as an EPS? Can you show some screen shots?
The format is sticky. Are you sure that JPG isn't listed in the Format drop-down menu when you Save As?
If its not reset your Photoshop preferences.
Yes, it is listed as one of the choices
I click on it but the file name at the top appears as .eps ,,,, not ,jpg
Does it happen with other images or just this one?
All of them
I have a screen print but have to figure out how to add it
It's a tiff file that I want to save as a jpeg
I flattened it but it happens when i don't flatten it
I also change the size for the jpegs but that doensn't seem to matter either
Reset your preferences which in recent versions of Photoshop you can do under the General tab in Photoshop preferences. If you don't have that facility in your version: Close Photoshop then hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac), and relaunch Photoshop. Respond in the affirmative to the dialog asking if you really want to replace the preferences.
The option to reset preferences isn't there
So I did the restart as you said, but it did not ask about the preferences
It did ask about - Delete PS Program Settings files
- Tried both yes and no
Now it won't open anything
It says - Could not complete your request because of a program error.
Did not work
The above did not solve the issue ... so it is not the correct answer
I totally reloaded the software and now it wont even open a file
It's worse than before
Don't know what to do
Do you have any more ideas on what to do ????
Sent the screen shots but have not hear back
Any ideas on what to do
I reloaded the software and it now won't even open a file
Got an other ideas?
It sounds like you might need to reinstall Photoshop. Make sure you deactivate it first through the help menu. I would also use the CC cleaner tool: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
There are instructions for using it with CS6.
Thank you for the suggestion ... I was thinking the same thing as nothing was working
It's working now
Also will look into the cc cleaner tool
If it's working, and you reinstalled PS, you don't need to use CC Cleaner. You use that after you uninstall, and before you reinstall. Glad it's working now.
