I've searched around but haven't seen this question answered specifically. On a recent trip I imported raw files first to my ipad and then into Lightroom CC where they were synced to the cloud. As the imported RAW files are taking up room on my ipad/icloud storage space, I would love to delete them if the actual RAW files are also sitting in the CC cloud. However, if what is sitting in the cloud is some kind of smart preview or something, it seems I should keep the RAW files in icloud or the external drive I keep at home for my other photos.
Apologies if this is a basic question, but just want to make sure I don't end up losing all my photos from my trip. Thanks!
Your originals should be in the cloud. You can confirm in the Lr CC app. Click on any thumbnail and open the info tab. You should see Cloud “Original Backed Up” and you can also view the File Name e.g. IMG_1234.NEF, IMG_1234.CR2, IMG_1234.DNG etc.
