    Tiff from JPG?

    David Blumenfeld \

Hi. I just shot a photo project using Panasonic GH5 with Raw and jpg files.  The client has asked for me to submit Tiffs.  I am finding the Jpegs look great and am wondering if there is any drawback to saving the JPGs as Tiffs, rather then opening Raw, photoshopping so they look like the JPGs and then saving the Raw's as Tiffs....It seems like a waste of time to try to match the Raws so they look as good as the JPGs...Thanks!

The damage of the lossy compression is already done to the jpgs.

You should be able to make the RAW-files look very similar to the jpgs with Camera Raw itself and apply the settings to the bunch of the images.

As for why the RAWs do not look like the jpgs or ways to emulate the appearance you might want to do Forum searches on this and the Camera Raw and Lightroom Fora.
