I've been retouching some 360 spherical panoramas in Photoshop cc 2018. I've been noticing that when I clone on an empty layer everything is fine, as soon as I merge it down anything I've done in that layer it blurs up. Or if I'm cloning directly on the panorama this happens instantly. Is there something I'm missing? or is it a bug? Its really annoying and makes retouching images a pain since what ever I corrected its noticeable in the final result
Can you post your layer document before you merge down and identify what you will merge?
Here are some screen captures don't know if you can download them to actually see the detail, the first one is the example I copied and pasted a selection and did a rotation via transform it looks normal and as it should (sharp) as soon as I merge it down (second photo) the whole part becomes blurry, not by much but noticeable specially if you're cloning or healing texture like fabric or edges.
