Running Mac OS 10.13.1 and can't turn off double-sided printing

Running Mac OS 10.13.1 and can't turn off double-sided printing when printing from Acrobat Reader DC 2018.009.20044. There is no option to select or deselect 2-sided printing in any of the print dialog boxes. Set Pages per Sheet to Custom 1 by 1 under Multiple. Still prints 2-sided. Checked File Properties and Duplex Mode is set to Simplex. Still prints 2-sided. Help!

There are a lot of reports of printing difficulties with Acrobat under MacOS. Normally they get solved by installing the latest printer driver from the printer manufacturer's web site.

An indication that the driver is not communicating its properties is a missing "print on both sides..." in the Acrobat print dialogue:

If that is the case, you need do your settings using the "properties" button.
