insert an empty keyframe in frame 1 of ice.worlds.2.swf and attach a stop(). when loading is complete, execute a play() on your loader's content property.
i got the first part and inserted the stop but i don't understand what the second part means.
in the loader script i tried inserting onLoadComplete gotoAndPlay (iceworlds.2.swf, 2) and it didn't work... but i am not a programmer and i don't really understand how to put this stuff together
plus the stop() i placed in the first blank keyframe in iceworlds.2.swf isn't keeping the movie from playing...
if that stop() isn't preventing your swf from playing, you don't have a stop() in an otherwise empty frame 1 or you have code in your loading swf that's causing that swf to play.
if you're testing in a browser, clear your cache.
and you would use something like:
hi, the stop wasn't working because i hadn't run test movie for the new swf file to export... ha ha.
i just added your code and it works! thanks so much. any chance you can explain what it means? i know what it does, but i don't understand why it works... plus it doesn't look anything like any of the other code people were posting in other forums (none of which was working anyway).
the default behavior of swfs is to "stream". ie, they start playing before fully downloaded.
to stop that putting a stop() in an otherwise empty first frame stops the streaming.
as for the code:
