    Security Error

      Hi everyone,
      I'm a new Flex user trying to get past a strange domain security error. Briefly, I have a ComboBox that is populated using data from an XML file that I access from the website that the Flex application is hosted on. I have no errors when I run in debug or when I access the site with http://sub.main.edu/~me/proj/, but when I access it with http://www.sub.main.edu/~me/proj/ I get a domain security error. After doing some research, I discovered the crossdomain.xml file settings. However, I have tried to set the crossdomain.xml file to be as permissive as possible (which obviously isn't ideal), but that has not changed the situation. Does anyone have an insight as to what is causing the problem?

      Below is the specific error that I am getting:

      quote:

      [RPC Fault faultString="Security error accessing url" faultCode="Channel.Security.Error" faultDetail="Destination: DefaultHTTP"] at mx.rpc::AbstractInvoker/ http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::faultHandler()[E:\dev\3.0.x\frameworks\project s\rpc\src\mx\rpc\AbstractInvoker.as:216 at mx.rpc::Responder/fault()[E:\dev\3.0.x\frameworks\projects\rpc\src\mx\rpc\Responder.as:49 ] at mx.rpc::AsyncRequest/fault()[E:\dev\3.0.x\frameworks\projects\rpc\src\mx\rpc\AsyncRequest .as:103] at DirectHTTPMessageResponder/securityErrorHandler()[E:\dev\3.0.x\frameworks\projects\rpc\sr c\mx\messaging\channels\DirectHTTPChannel.as:368] at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/redirectEvent()

      Thanks in advance,
      Jason
