Upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7 and PS CS5 appeared to be working ok. Had some issues with Windows updates and after MS tech played around on the PC I found PS CS5 was no longer working. Uninstalled and reinstalled and although the install appears to go OK the program is now having issues with text.
Text layers now show an exclamation mark. When I click on a text layer (which previously recognised the font) it come sup with an error message saying:
"Editing or rendering the text layer will cause its layout to change", clicking OK then shows "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
If I try to add text I get an error saying "Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initilaized".
Any ideas how to resolve this?
Found the answer by mcb adobe on "something prevented the text engine from being initialized"
"I found the culprit file in the following location: C:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\TypeSupport\PSE15
Its last modified date (6/23/17) corresponded with the start of my problem. I renamed - i.e. AdobeFnt_OSFonts.lst, as AdobeFnt_OSFontsold.lst - then, re-opened"
