I recently bought an Ipad Pro as my notebook PC gets slower and slower (plus battery management dead).
I have a license for the lightroom cc including storage. The goal is to do everything on the Ipad Pro 12.9 (I have the version with 512GB)
My question is: How does the migration path work ? I would like (rather need) to have my existing photos available.
How do I get the existing photos to the Ipad ? Copy them to the Adobe Cloud ? If yes how ? Or use the Icloud ?
Thanks for your help
The idea is that you would be uploading them to Adobe's cloud. So you would install LRCC on the Notepad, import all your photos into it, and then wait until they are all up in the cloud. From that point on, your iPad could take over.
What are you planning to do about backing up your originals? For example, if you take new photos and import them with the iPad, the photo in Adobe's cloud is the only copy of that file. If you ever delete it by mistake, it's goodbye. One copy, even if securely stored by Adobe, is never enough.
Amen -IN SPADES- to your last sentence.
Redundant (more that 1) backup of original files, and redundant catalog backups if using Lr Classic, would go a long way in helping a lot of users who ask for help here.
