I downloaded photoshop cc two days ago and it worked perfectly until yesterday. whenever I want to open photoshop from my desktop (I have Mac btw) I receive the "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." notification, so I uninstalled and then reinstalled it about three times and nothing changed, then I restored my computer to factory settings and downloaded photoshop and Lightroom cc once again- still nothing (also never had any kind of problem with Lightroom). what should I do to fix this??

Try resetting your Photoshop  preferences or deleting them.   Uninstalling and reinstalling Pgotoshop doe not reset your user id Photoshop preferences.

I am experiencing the same problem and error message. I am loathe to uninstall/reinstall, fearing that I'll lose setting, presets, etc. I tried deleting Photoshop preferences, and this did nothing. Are you saying to delete the preferences AND uninstall/reinstall?
